Last updated: July 2026
For both the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 programme years, official ECCE programme rules state a standard weekly ECCE capitation of €69.00 per eligible child. Always confirm the current rules on the Early Years Hive. Rates can change by programme year.
Rate table (programme rules)
| Item | 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 (as published) |
|---|---|
| Standard weekly ECCE capitation | €69.00 per eligible child |
| Session length | 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, 38 weeks |
| Higher capitation | Replaced for partner services by Core Funding. Confirm your status on the Hive. |
Higher vs standard capitation
- The published standard weekly rate in the programme rules is €69.00.
- Higher capitation was the older top-up for graduate-led rooms. Core Funding changed that picture for partner services.
- Do not quote a higher rate on your fee list unless the current programme rules for your service still allow it.
Admin implications for providers
- Register eligible children on the Hive before you claim.
- Keep attendance for the ECCE session separate from wraparound hours.
- Parent fees after the capitation reduction must match what you publish.
- Staff qualifications for the room still need to be on file. See the ECCE compliance checklist and Core Funding tracking guide.
